Thanks Fenris, I think

We are way to upset about some of the things that happen to cats and dogs that wind up in shelters to paw more, but this quote we borrowed from Confucius' post sums it up.

Atrocities are not less atrocities when they occur in laboratories and are called medical research.

Scylla on Sunday
I wants to go visit Brian first thing this morning. I am sleeping on the keyboard so as soon as lazy Mommy gets up I'll be ready to go.
Mommy don't you dare show the picture of my FAT COW BELLY! and don't you dare tell everyone that Daddy's new nickname for me is COW BABY cause I was afraid of Fenris.
Mommy laughing, "Don't worry I won't Scylla . You already did".

Flowers on Friday
These are Gladiolus. We loves their pretty pink covers. Grandma gave them to us and she didn't know what they would look like. They were a very pleasant surprise for us.
The flowers Mommy planted in the chair are doing good and here is another picture of the Monkey Face. We still do not know what it is. There were good suggestions last time we showed it and Mommy thought one was a really good possibility but it doesn't have TUBERS. It just has roots. Mommy re-potted some of it, it was doing so well and had filled up most of the pot it i s in.
The Mexican Petunia, it blooms a lot when it rains.
The pink Azaleas that bloom all year.
This is Ginger, it smells really good.
A wildflower Daddy is trying to grow.
Charybdis
Wow, I finally get to do a post. I was beginning to think they forgot about me. Here I am playing with eldest boy bean. He is fun to play with.
This is the side flower bed. It is not doing as well as the front flower bed. We will try different plants in it next year.
Even though they didn't do very well, we likes the Four O'Clocks. Something has been eating them though.

Fenris, we have a special request. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to post before and after photos of you on the Butterfly Bench. We think you've grown even more than we think you've grown, but we'd like to see in actual photos. Purrty please?
This is the first picture we have of me on The Butterfly Bench. It was made in April and I am 4 months old.
I am 9 months old here. Sorry we didn't have a more recent one with me sitting. Mommy will work on getting one for you.
You can also see my coat is getting lighter.
This is what I looked like February 9th, 2009
This is my Gotcha day and I was estimated to be between 6 & 8 weeks old
Sophie needs a home
I am borrowing Socks, Scylla, Charybdis, Fenris and Alasandra's blog to ask the nice people on the Internet to help me find a new home. My name is Sophie and I am 11 years old, declawed and spayed. Because I am declawed I will have to be an inside cat. My Mom says I am very calm and loving and very good with children. I would even be a wonderful pet/companion for an elderly person. Even though I am a senior cat I don't have any medical issues. My Mom is trying to find a new home for me because her two year old human child is allergic and has asthma, my Mom is also expecting a new baby so it is getting harder for her to deal with the allergies/asthma.
If you think you can give me a home please call my Mom. Her name is Holly Young and her number is 225-802-4136 or email. We live in Louisiana but my Mom will do whatever she has to do to find me a good home. ~Thanks, Sophie
Pet Postcard Project
Things on Tuesday
One of Mommy's friends thinks I am an Anatolian Shepherd Dog. The description does fit me better then the Great Pyrenees description. I have a black mask, black ears and my coat is turning fawn colored. Funnily enough my blue eyes which everyone loves would be a fault. We thinks that is very silly. IF DNA test didn't cost so much I guesses it would be fun to know what I am but I likes Mommy's label best. She said I am a 100% Alasandra's Mutt. I thinks this means she belongs to me.
When the beans built the greenhouse they didn't think about hot weather, they were just concerned with keeping the plants from getting cold. Well since the greenhouse is in my yard when HOT weather came Daddy had to make some doors to keep me OUT and let the breeze in.
This is Mommy's Lemon Tree. It is getting really tall. This is the tree Mommy saw the snakeapillar (Daddy's name for it) on. We will show you pictures of snakeapillar soon.
I think these flowers are pretty. I can see them from the door.
Charybdis is waiting in the house for Mommy she wants some lap time.
Mancat and Mandog Monday
Me and Fenris have been talking and we have decided us guys have to stick together. I am informing youngest boy bean of our plot (er I mean plans) to take over the household
Since Socks is older and wiser I having being listening to him and his plans sound good but there is one BIG PROBLEM with them. Even though us guys outnumber the girls 1 boy dog, 1 boy cat and 3 guy beans = 5 guys and there are only 2 girl cats + Mommy which is only 3 girls. Mommy is on the girls side and she is the one that feeds us. I thinks we better listen to Mommy even IF she is a GIRL.

Scylla Sunday
Before supper we often like to get together in the dining room and play. Here I am playing with Charybdis. Socks is observing from his chair.
Charybdis is attacking my tail. This is a good strategy as I can't reach her without moving.

Colston & Ashton need a new home
We just discovered a wonderful new blog thanks to Brian. Anyway The Adventures of Space Paws is a blog promoting the adoption of abandoned animals. One of the staff is having to get rid of her absolutely gorgeous Norwegian Forrest Cats because her baby biped is allergic to them and is having difficulty breathing. If you live in the Baltimore area and think you could give Colston & Ashton (preferably together as they are great friends) a home drop by Space Paws to find out more.

Family Friday with Scylla & Charybdis
None of us has every stolen food from the beans. We steals it from each other though, especially Greenies. Before us Whiskers stole the ham right out of Mommy's sandwich one time. Mommy had just got home from the grocery store and she had got herself a subway and she was eating it on the couch (which was very naughty of her) and Whiskers jumped up in her lap and started eating it from the bottom while Mommy was eating it from the top.
I do help Mommy cook though. Here I am checking to make sure Mommy put enough ice in the roasting pan with the corn. They are going to cook the corn on the cob on the grill and the husk have to be soaked in ice water. The buckets on the table are full of beans and peas that have to be shelled. I supervise the shelling and make sure Mommy gets it done. She has a tendency to slack off if you don't watch her.
Charybdis isn't very helpful around the house. She spends most of her time playing and sleeping in the cube.
Jan's Funny Farm: Carrol Crocker...Urgent Need
Remember Carrol Crocker's Dogs at Rainsville, AL. Well eight of them still need to be rescued. You can read more at Jan's Funny Farm: Carrol Crocker...Urgent Need. While you are at JFF check out Merci's U-Tube video. You can see the difference Jan made in her life and learn how Merci rescued Percy & Cameron. And don't forget to vote for Merci in The Cutest Dog Competition.
Queen Scylla
Contrary to what the beans would have you believe I don't spend all my time laying around snoozing and eating. As the ruler of this KINGDOM, I have several important duties. First and foremost I must keep us safe. Here I am inspecting the water level of the pond. I think it is time for my serf (I mean Daddy) to unclog the drain again. Mr. Beaver seems to be for more industrious at clogging it up then Daddy is at unclogging it.
I like to take time to enjoy the garden and commune with nature. It is very important for a ruler to spend time thinking about how to improve the lot of her subjects and to make sure her subject live in harmony with nature.
Now I has to fix my furs as a Queen must always look her best. ~Queen Scylla
