Thursday in the Garden

This flower bed is a surprise to us. We had Mommy take the picture Christmas Day. See the stuff in it Bugleweed, Stokes Aster and Yarrow are usually dormant in the winter but these are still growing and look pretty. We were pleasantly surprised by this flowerbed. If you go here, you can see how this bed looked in August. when the plants were blooming.

Both the Camillas are blooming and still look pretty.

Message from Artemisia

Hi, I am home. I wants to think Teri & The Cats of Furrydance for telling us about the Artemisia plant. We thinks that is the purrfect name for me. See of all the names the beans suggested I liked Artemis best, but felt it wasn't quiet purrfect. Then when we heard about the Artemisia I knew that, that was what my name was meant to be. So I am Artemisia, or Artemis for short. I really likes this as Artemisia is very girly and I am a very girly girl.

I had a ruptured ear drum along with the ear mites so I will be getting ear drops in my ears twice a day. I also have some pain medicine but so far I am feeling fine and doing well. I am going to spend the rest of the day snoozing in the master bathroom.

Charybdis Day ~ Saying Goodbye is Hard to Do

Our veterinarian, Dr. Lisa & her staff sent this sweet card and keepsake.

This card came from our library.

Mommy got these for us to hang on the tree.

Mommy has new post up on Charybdis' blog.

I thinks I was bad................

Remember how I kept complaining about Artemis and saying I wanted Sandy Paws to take her back. Well she isn't here. Mommy went somewhere with her and didn't bring her back. I didn't mean it. I mean part of my hissing was just for form you know. I couldn't let the beans think they could bring a cat home without consulting with me without hearing about it. I mean yesterday I only hissed once just before bed time at the kitten and then once this morning at Socks. So uh Mom where is Artemis? My hissing at Fenris doesn't count, cause I ALWAYS hiss at him except when I go steal his food. Then I acts all friendly to him.

Scylla is actually being very good all three of the cats watched the new Star Trek DVD in the family room with us last night. Today I took Artemis to the vet. It turns out Artemis is at least 6 months old (she is going to be a very small cat). The vet recommended keeping her overnight and spaying her in the morning since Artemis had a bad case of ear mites and needed to be knocked out for them to clean her ears good. They all fell in love with her at the vets. She is really sweet and doesn't put up a fuss about anything they do to her. She just laid there and let them draw her blood for the Feline Leukemia Test. (it was clear thank Cat) when Scylla had her blood drawn for it it took 3 vet techs plus me to hold her down.  In addition to being spayed and having her ears cleaned Artemis will receive her 12 weeks shots and then go back in a couple of weeks for her booster shots plus rabies.

Mancat Monday ~ Package from MoMo

I am dreaming of my beloved MoMo.

I guesses Scylla is dreaming of Brian. Do yo see her in the laundry basket?

MoMo is very thoughtful. MoMo had SS mail this package from Australia before SS abandoned her. The package arrived before Charybdis went to the bridge. We all thought the Christmas Trees on the box were very pretty and were very excited about it. We decided to wait till Christmas to open it .................I wishes we hadn't so Charybdis could have played with the special gift MoMo sent to us cats. She would have loved it.

Mommy helped us open it.

Daddy spotted our special gift right away and helped us with unwrapping it.

Scylla thought the packaging was very pretty and was happy to just admire it.

But I decided to play with the toy. I love the way the bell jingles.

Scylla eventually came to play with it too.

And they sent this to Mommy, who LOVES it. She says it looks as if the cats could just walk off the shoulder bag it is so realistic and it is very roomy. You can even carry a cat in it. Scylla just had to nose around inside it.

Introducing ...... & Confucius Cat Purrs 4 Peace Week 29 Peace on Earth. Good will toward men...and cats...and other animals

These are my baby pictures (October 3, 2009). I was born at Grandma's House.

I was a barn cat. I didn't have a warm house to sleep in and I didn't get taken to the vet.

All that changed Christmas. My Mommy & Daddy still miss Charybdis and I suspect they always will they talk about her a lot. Scylla misses her sister too. She missed having someone to play Thundering Herd of Elephants with her and wrestling, Socks being older didn't care to be her playmate and for some strange reason the beans object to being woken at 2AM to PLAY. I can't imagine why. So they decided to rescue me.

Unfortunately Socks & Scylla don't seem to like me much. They hiss when the see me or smell me on Mommy. Fenris seems to want to be my friend but I am afraid of him. I mean look at him he is HUGE. So I mostly hang out in Mommy's lap or my carrier. I am around 5 months old.

I haven't told them my real name yet. Mommy was thinking Circe, but the guy beans don't seem to like it. Youngest boy bean suggested Artemis or Juno and we are leaning toward Artemis unless Daddy comes up with something we like better before I go to the vet Monday. We haven't taken any new pictures of me yet. I am very shy and Mommy is trying to let me get used to things before she introduces the flashy thing to me.

I hopes you will be my friend and I hopes you has some advice on making friends with Scylla & Socks.

Mommy said I could tell you about Confucius Cat Purrs 4 Peace Week 29 Peace on Earth. Good will toward men...and cats...and other animals. Please join us in purring for peace.

Scylla Sunday

It is cold outside.

Socks and I are snuggling in Youngest Boy Bean's bed.

I miss Charybdis, she should be here snuggling with me.

Youngest Boy Bean is reading us a story to cheer me up.

I am visiting Daddy now. He plays with me.

I know it looks like I am sleeping, but I am ready to pounce on him when he gets up.

Mommy promised me a special Christmas present. I looked and looked for it Christmas Day and didn't find it then the beans went to Meridian and they came back with my Christmas present. Apparently Sandy Paws delivered it there by mistake. Cepts I don't like it. How do I send a present back to the North Pole? Mommy says she will grow on me but I have my doubts. I thinks I prefer Fenris. Mommy I am mad at you! ~Scylla

We Are Remembering Charybdis' First Christmas With Us

Charybdis we wish you were here. Christmas Eve seems to be a time for reflections so we have posted pictures from your first Christmas with us on your blog.

Thursday in the Garden

This Camellia is in our neighbors yard it is huge and full of blooms we hope ours will be as large one day.

This cactus is blooming in our greenhouse.

The Mandevilla  is safe from Jack Frost in our greenhouse too.

Some Canna Lilies that are blooming in our greenhouse.

This is our azalea that blooms all year. It is blooming now.

The Bottle Bush is still blooming too.

A close up of our Camellia. We put blooms from two of the Camellia bushes on Charybdis' grave. She is buried near one of the Camelia's and this spring we will plant a Buttercup for her. It's pretty yellow flowers remind us of Charybdis as she was our "ray of sunshine".

Our Camellia bush isn't very big yet.

This Camellia is darker then the other one.  Two of our Camellias bloom Fall & Winter and are blooming now. The other one blooms Winter & Spring and hasn't started blooming yet. It will proably bloom in a few weeks.
