Scylla Brings Home the Gold
Scylla entered the Extreme Climbing ~ Outdoors at House of Cats. Just so Scylla doesn't get a big head the competition was stiff and all the entries brought home the gold. These cats were amazing ................

Uneducated animal control officers have the power to mislabel dogs
Dano's story had a happy ending but many other of the pit bulls who have been banned are in danger of losing their lives and some of them aren't even "pit bulls" the stupid animal control officers just seized them anyway. Read the whole story here.
Several rescue organizations, such as Bullies in Need (BIN), a non-profit dog rescue in Ottawa, Ontario, are doing their best to find homes for dogs before they are euthanized because of Ontario's "pit bull" ban.
Of course, many of the dogs on death row are not "pit bulls" at all, but rather dogs who've been seized by uneducated animal control officers who have the power to label any dog a banned dog, regardless of its actual breed—like the seven puppies slated to be euthanized that were actually Hound-Whippet mixes. Or Brampton's Rambo and Brittany, Boxer mixes who were seized without warrants and whose fate will be determined by the courts.
No dog should be killed just because it is a certain breed or looks like a banned breed to an ignorant animal control officer.
Scylla Sunday
I loves my brother Socks. We sleep together all the time.
I will tolerate the little one. We eats together, but then I will eats with anyone even Fenris.
Sometimes I play with her. Socks plays with her the most.
She is a lap hog. But I guesses we can keep her.

Mom, I am ready to go for a walk are you ready yet?
I think it is really nice outside today.
OK, lets get a move on, no dawdling around taking pictures.
Hey, I found a treat. You can rest while I savor it.
OK, time to head back to the house.
A picture of our house from the back side of the pond. You can see the greenhouse, Daddy's shop and the barn too.
I hope everyone enjoyed the walk. ~Fenris
Thursday in the Garden
We thought we would show you some of the stuff growing in our greenhouse.
This has grown up a storm and filled the pot up. It is called Purple Heart.
What we think Cilantro is growing outside in the raised vegetable bed. Mommy forgot what herbs she planted where. It needs weeding MOMMY!

Artemisia @ Play
I love to play and I love all the toys that we have here. I am getting along better with Scylla. We actually sleep with each other sometimes. She still gets all hissy & growly when I pounce on her and she doesn't want to play. Socks says I am just like her when she was a kitten and that she used to pester him to play with her all them time. He thinks it is funny that she has ME following her around pouncing on her when she wants to nap and groom. Me and Socks get along great. We has an understanding when he wants to play with me we play and when he wants me to leave him alone I do. Fenris would like to play with all us cats but we are all terrified of him, I mean he is HUGE, but me and Scylla watch him when he is inside. Scylla knocks the gate down sometimes trying to get him in trouble but he never takes the bait and walks over the gate to come after her. Yesterday I didn't realize he was in the kitchen and I followed Socks right in there. Mommy laughed cause when I saw Fenris I turned around and ran out. ~Artemisia
Another Way to Help Myron's Forever Home!
Please visit The Adventures of Space Paws: Another Way to Help Myron's Forever Home! to find out how to help the shelter that took Myron in. For those of you who don't know Little Myron tested positive for FeLV. (Feline leukemia) The test was run twice and showed a strong positive both times. You can read more about Little Myron at Pitter Pats of Baby Cats.
Mancat Monday ~ Socks Champion Napper
When it rains I like to sleep. Mommy's jacket is a good place to sleep.
Or the floor by Mommy's chair in the study. The flashy box doesn't even disturb my slumbers after a night on the town.

Friday Feb 12th, we didn't participate. It was COLD, overcast and rainy all day. We did send Youngest Boy Bean to fill up the bird feeder.
Saturday Feb 13th. The weather was some better but we couldn't get the Mom to go outside so we counted the birds at the bird-feeder from the Master Bedroom window this is what we saw @ approximately 9AM for 15 minutes.

Mourning Dove - 2
Blue Jay - 2
Tree Swallow - 7
Sunday Feb 14th. The weather was great and Fenris managed to talk Mommy into taking him for a walk. This is what they saw at 10AM on a 30 minute walk, cause Mommy walks so SLOW.

Synchronized Eating
Today we bring you Synchronized Eating. This is a lot harder then it looks as you must eat at the same pace as your siblings. We tried to get Fenris in on the act but he eats so slow we were afraid we would die of starvation. Can you believe he eats ONE nibble at a time and actually chews his food. Us cats just gobble down as many nibbles in one mouthful as we can. But then we don't let our food sit in the bowl hoping the Mom will feed us by hand either. Jeez that would take all day. ~Artemisia, Socks & Scylla
Avalanche Rescue Dogs at Vancouver Olympics
We read about some very special dogs that are at the Vancouver Olympics. You can read all about them here.
We decided we needed a doggie rescue team for the Cat Olympics over at Fin's. Fenris volunteered to head up the patrol. Being young he is very enthusiastic, We are sure some wiser more mature doggies will lend a paw to keep him on track. Just add your link if you want to join the Fen Patrol. ~AFSS
For some reason the Mr. Linkys aren't showing up so we got the Mom to add the names. Just leave a comment if you want to join. ~Fenris

Thanks Mrs Ann
Mrs Ann has worked her magic and we now has a lovely header for spring, she also made the nice graphic of our Angels Whiskers and Charybdis that is on the right (toward the bottom) and that we find particularly touching.
If you are unfamiliar with Mrs Ann's work check out Zoolatry and Collectibles by Zoolatry, you will be in for a feast for the eyes.

Extreme Climbing with Scylla
House of Cats is hosting Extreme Climbing which I can really sink my teeth into. I of course am in the OUTDOOR Division. First to whet your appetites I am on top of the Jungle Gym. Impressed?
For those of you who are a bit jaded and hard to impress, how about the roof of the barn?
Extreme climbing is a dangerous sport and should not be tried by young kitties. It requires lots of practice and a great sense of balance.
I am also suppose to remind everyone to vote in the Green + Clean contest. Advertisers at the 2010 Cat-Olympics. ~Scylla
Thursday in the Garden
Since it is wet and muddy here we sent Fenris to check on the Whiskers Memorial Butterfly Garden for us.
He thinks some rabbits have been visiting our garden.
He sat in the butterfly chair.
Look what happened to Mommy's teacup. We thinks the ice did it. Mommy had to pick all the glass up after she put Fenris up.
Now they are going to walk to the other side of the pond.
You can see the trees reflected in the pond. We thinks it looks kinda neat.
Look what happened!!! because the beaver keeps stopping up the drainage pipe the pond overflows. We hopes it doesn't wash out the path. That has happened before and the Daddy had to haul dirt, bricks and stuff in to fill it back up.
It looked pretty deep to us but Fenris said Mommy managed to get across without getting to wet.

Synchronized Snoozing Competition ~ Socks & Scylla
I (Scylla) loves my brother Socks. We sleep together all the time.
We are champions at synchronized snoozing.
We are so good at this event that we can even snooze with our Mom & Dad bean in the bed with us and last night we allowed Artemisia to get in on the act. That was 3 cats and 2 beans in one bed. The Mom & Dad complained loudly that they need a bigger bed though. We are afraid they just don't have the competitive spirit us cats have and they seem to think us cats take up too much room. Obviously they do not realize that extra points are given for always keeping in contact with your bedmates. ~Scylla & Socks
PS: We were so busy snoozing we forgots to tell you The Island Cats are hosting this event.
