Tsarina Tuesday ~ Artemisia

I has a lot to do today, so I better get started.

First a DUST BATH.

Now I am ready to go check on the Vegetable Garden.

Are U coming with me Scylla?
(Scylla) I believe I will head to the Butterfly Garden. See you later.

OK, See you later Scylla. I'll show our guest the vegetables.

Our upside down tomatoes. They seem to be doing OK, once Mommy and Daddy figured out they needed to be watered. We have actually picked a couple of tomatoes.

Daddy's muscadine vine. The main garden isn't doing well at all. We got to much rain and it washed a lot of stuff out. Daddy replanted then we got too much rain again, and washed more stuff out or buried it. Daddy gave up. We didn't get hardly any rain and we got the hots. The grass is growing good in there though.

Well, I don't know about you but I have had a long day and am ready for bed.
~Artemisia

Before you go we wants to ask you to say a purr for MoMo she was in an accident Sunday. We are hoping she is OK, we had to go to bed (Monday night) before we heard how she was doing, and Mommy has run off to hunt groceries this morning. We hopes there will be an update when she get back and can help us blog.
UPDATE: We got an email from MoMo and she is feeling perkier.

And a new friend of ours Neala is having surgery so purrs for her would be appreciated too.

Mancat Monday ~ Socks

Eldest Boy Bean had this rug in his dorm room at college. It is in the family room now and I am really enjoying it.

I have been spending a lot of time inside.

Either it is TOO HOT to go outside.

Or it is RAINING cats and dogs.

Time for a nap so I can have sweet dreams of MoMo. When I wake up we can go visit the Butterfly Garden.

These roses are growing wild. We really likes them.

They start out pink and fade to white.

Mommy says this is called a Paperwhite. What a weird name for it.

No clue what this is called, it was growing wild in the greenhouse.

Hope you enjoyed your visit. I am going to take another nap now. ~Socks

Until we meet again sweet Keiko

We are sads today. One of our friends Keiko had to go to the rainbow bridge and leave her many friends and family behind. Words cannot express the sorrow we feel at losing our friend or express the sympathy we feel for her family.  We will be thinking of Keiko today. One of the happier memories we has of Keiko was  her's winning entry in our Easter Contest.

She was very sick before she went to the bridge, so we are trying to remember that now she is free of pain and is with all our many friends and family members who have gone before.

We will miss you sweet Keiko, until we meet again. ~Artemisia, Fenris, Socks & Scylla

Scylla Sunday

I am going to go strolling in the Butterfly Garden with Brian, would you like to come too?

Grandpa said this is a weed, but I thinks it is pretty.

I wishes I knew it's name.

Our yarrow. A nice lavender color.

The Herman's Pride, so far the ones Mommy planted in the Whiskers Bed are doing OK.

I likes the cup & saucer full of flowers.

The Bottlebush with the Purple Verbena.

I really likes the purple yarrow. OK, time to go back up to the house.

Artemisia! you are going to be in so much trouble chewing Mommy's shoes.

(Artemisia) Do you thinks she will believe us if we say Fenris did it.

No! He never bothers Mom's stuff. Now if it was Dad's shoes she would believe you.

Purple

We likes these PURPLE wildflowers. They are a shade of PURPLE called lavender.

This purple heliotrope is very prettyWe are going to plant it in the Charybdis Bed if Daddy ever finishes it.

Artemisia is disappointed the PURPLE Heart doesn't smell good.

We has PURPLE Mexican Petunias. We has heard they also come in pink. We would like some pink ones.

The Mom was getting artsy with the camera again but you can really see how PURPLE the Stokes Aster is.

Life is Good Award for Alasandra

TBT over at Marks Mews and Nico, JayJay and Simon's Mom passed this award on to me (Alasandra). Thank you both very much.

What would your prefect day consist of?
To wake up at a Bed & Breakfast in the Canadian Rockies with my Hubby (and maybe even the boy beans) and after enjoying a huge breakfast going for a hike in the mountains and then having diner at nice restaurant before collapsing into bed from exhaustion.

2. How would you describe yourself if you were an item of clothing?
Hm mm something colorful and soft. Maybe a bathrobe.

3. What hobbies are you currently working on?
Reading, Gardening and Cooking. I would like to do more hiking and traveling.

4. Walking in the woods in wellies or bare foot on the beach?
My preference would be to walk bare foot in the woods, but I'll wear shoes if you insist.
5. Have you ever hugged or sang to a tree?
Not since I became an adult.
6. Growing your own veggies or nipping to the supermarket?
Growing my own. Veggies taste better fresh out of the garden.
7. Have you found anyone exciting in your family tree?
Maybe Barry Edward O'Meara, Napoleons' physician.
8. Slap up meal in a posh restaurant or fish ‘n’ chips from the wrapper?
Posh restaurant, I like getting dressed up and I love gourmet food. But I like going on picnics too and the fish 'n' chips from the wrapper would be great then. I love being outside.

9. Which element do you most resonate with, Earth, Air, Fire or water?
Water, I love to splash around in the water.

10. Do you believe in fairies?
Sometimes

I would like to pass this along to
Jan of JFF

Fenris & Femme Friday

Me & Scylla decided we wanted to get in on Femme Friday. So we are kinda hijacking Fenris' post. You don't think he will mind do you?

Scylla is hanging out in the dining room chair.

But I am right here on the floor and just look where Fenris is at. ~Artemisia

(Woof) Do you thinks they wants to  play with me? ~ Fenris

Thursday in the Garden

Grandma gave us this flowering shrub. She said it was a Spiraea. It has pink blooms.

It did good while we were getting lots of rain but once it stopped raining and we gots the hots it started dying. It seems to be doing OK now. Mommy had to cut it way back though.

Grandma gave us this flowering shrub too. She said it was a Bridal Wreath Spiraea. It started dying when we got all the rain. We don't think it will make it.

The Whiskers Bed was doing good until we got all the rain. Now the Verbena is mostly dead. (sigh) On the other hand some seeds from the Candle Bush came up in here. Since there wasn't much growing in here Mommy decided to leave them instead of pulling them up. Even though they don't belong in here. And see that azalea blooming in the back. We thinks it is dead, it doesn't have hardly any leaves on it now.

Be sure to visit Jonesie and the other Feline Gardeners.

Supervisors allow hog-dog events

Supporters of hog and dog competitions told the Jackson County Board of Supervisors on Monday that the events represent a way of life in Vancleave and shouldn’t be stopped.

Stupid Supervisors, I am sure the supporters of dog fighting say the same thing. What is even more OUTRAGEOUS is the County Planning Commission had decided the event was NOT in harmony with the community and recommended the permit NOT be issued, but the Jackson County Board of Supervisors ignored their recommendation.

Tsarina Tuesday ~ Artemisia

It is raining outside and I am not amused. I has a LOT to do.

I has to make sure the rocks are where they belong. Mommy tends to move them when she weeds which annoys the Dad.

I has to make sure no intruders are in our garden.

I has to encourage the purple verbena to keep growing good and ask it politly to tell me why the other verbena isn't doing so hot.

I has to plan what flowers to plant in the new flowerbeds.

I has to make sure we has enough rocks and old bricks for borders.

Then I wants to relax and enjoy my garden some. I do not have time for rain.
