Thursday in the Garden with Socks & Artemisia

Welcome to our garden. I agreed to help Artemisia with the gardening post today.

Here she is posing for the camera.
And here she is ready to pounce on me.
Some of you mentioned how nice and shady our Candlebushes are. They are indeed shady but they attract birds like nobodies business. Don't let Artemisia's good looks fool you she is an avid huntress.
The Encore Azalea, we planted 3 and this is the only one that is still alive. We won't plant them again although we did like how they bloomed all year.
 Lantana
Somebody thinks I can't see her behind the Lantana.
(Sigh) Mommy getting creative with the flash thing again.
Since Jonesie let Oliver in the Society of Feline Gardeners  we decided we would let Fenris join. He thinks he is a cat anyway and he comes in handy for pulling that garden wagon Daddy got Mommy.

Tsarina Tuesday

Mommy gave me a bath. Now I has to dry off.

For those of you who were wondering how big I am. Last time I was at the VET I weighed 3 pounds. Mommy says I may have gained a pound since then but she doubts it.

Mango has a favor to ask and so does Fenris

I'll let Mango explain it VOTING RESTARTED! BIG MISTAKE! BLAME THE HUMAN!  Well aren't mistakes always the humans fault? But if you voted for me or anybody else for that matter in Mango's I Wanna Be Like Mango contest, could you help him out and go vote again.

I just hope Mango is OK, Mom had something called a Mahi roll with MANGO chili, when Dad took her for lunch today. I thinks he had to bribe her to drive the truck so he could get the tires changed. They went to Shady's Global Grill in downtown Ocean Springs and ate on the patio the weather was so nice and then they rode the motorcycle along the beach until the truck was ready to be picked up. Now exactly why wasn't I invited on this excursion? ~Fenris

Mancat Monday ~ Socks

This is Youngest Boy Bean's bed. I like sleeping in it, and don't you think Sky Blue shows off my furs nicely?
I saw this big white bird down at the pond. The Mom thinks it is an Egret or maybe a Mississippi Sandhill Crane. She doesn't know how to tell them apart.
It was looking for fish.
I don't think it found any though.
Mommy scared it away with the flashy thing.

I can't believe she was quick enough to catch it in flight.

Here is a picture of Daddy hard at work on the Hummingbird Cottage.
I think I am going to go snooze in the Butterfly Garden now.

Fenris wants to be like Mango

Voting has started in the I Wanna Be Like Mango contest. I am in the first group and I thinks everyone will totally agree I am a handsome dude just like Mango.

You can read my entry here.~Fenris

For Yuu-Chan

Sending purrs of comfort to Yuu-Chan's family.

Scylla Sunday

I thinks most of you know that me &  Charybdis lost our Cat Mom when we were 4 weeks old. Luckily for us Mommy & Daddy agreed to foster us cause we were so little we needed constant care and to be bottle feed. Charybdis had a heart condition. Mommy & Daddy took her to the Vet School @  MSU for an ultra sound. She was Mommy's baby. Charybdis would lay in Mommy's arms like a human baby and snuggle forever, but we both loved our Mommy & Daddy very much.

Mommy says we grew up to be beautiful cats.

I still miss Charybdis, but I loves Artemisia too. She helped my heart not hurt so much after Charybdis went to the bridge..

We helps our Mommy with the laundry.

We thinks everything looks better with a little fur on it.

I noticed some of my friends didn't know what LIVESTRONG Day was or how to participate. Well I am not terribly good at explaining things so I am sending you over to Alfie & Milo's blog post where they explained all about it. I hopes you will join us in going YELLOW for LIVESTRONG Day October 2nd.  ~Scylla

Complaint

Mommy I thinks you should get us some upholstered dining chairs, the ones you have are too hard. I bets you could finds some at CSN Stores, they has lots of different stuff. While you are there maybe you should look for a new purse, I thinks you should give this one to me, it goes so well with my furs. Well what are you waiting on go on over to CSN Stores and gets us some stuff. ~Scylla

Fenris Friday ~ Doing a Fin

I was pawstruck by Fin's ability to combine two events in one post Housecat Confidential: Helping Dogs Meow Like Pirates, I think the ability to multi task is very important so I am going to attempt to combine my entry into Mango's Wanna Be Like Mango Contest with getting the word out about what excellent pets large breed dogs makes. I thinks I has a very expressive face like Mango this is my BORED look.

This is my look of total disgust that Mom has that flashy thing out AGAIN!

Like Mango I am a good gardner. I am checking the water level of the pond here to make sure it doesn't flood the Butterfly Garden. I thinks Daddy may need to unstop the dam and let some water out in case it rains.

Mommy says I am very handsome. She thinks I am even handsomer then Mango but she is my Mommy. Mommy's are prejudice about their kids good looks.

More of my handsome self.

Like Mango I am also athletic, like to ride in my car (the Fen-Mobile), eat very delicately so I to can take a nommy treat without risk to the beans fingers (unlike the cats), am handy around the house and LOVED Dog School. Alas unlike Mango I totally destroy stuffies, but I am kind to my CATS, even though they bites my Mommy's fingers when she gives them treats.

Mommy says that MUTTS like me and Large Breed Dogs are often over looked at shelters. The people at the shelter really didn't  know what I am. Some nice people found me abandoned so nothing is known about my parentage. The lady at the shelter thought I looked like a Great Pyrenees, so that is what she listed me as. Male dogs can be 100+ pounds. At 64 pounds I am on the small side but as I am not yet 3 I may grow some more. Mommy doesn't care if I don't. But some places discriminate against large breed dogs. Imagine being told you can't live somewhere just because you WEIGH to much. And some silly people are afraid of big dogs, I can't imagine anyone being afraid of ME! I loves everybody and unless you try to hurt my Mommy you don't have anything to worry about. I even LOVES cats. Even though I am big I don't eat very much. When I am inside I just lay around and watch everybody and the cats. I never bother Mommy's stuff. When I am outside I likes to chase squirrels. I actually don't bark that much. I just bark when someone I don't know comes up in our yard or when the Good Year Blimp flies overhead, I bark and chase helicopters too.  I do have a LOUD bark but if Mommy tells me to hush I do. So as our vet says ADOPT DON'T SHOP! ~Fenris Wolf

Thursday in the Garden with Artemisia

Not only is the Butterfly Garden a great place to enjoy flowers but there are hummingbirds and butterflies to admire as well as some other birds, squirrels and even rabbits.

Although since Mommy is here I can't admire the wildlife as much as  I would like.

Maybe I'll see what's happening at the Hummingbird Cottage now.

The roses are still blooming. I likes these they are a really deep pink when they first open and get lighter the older they are.

Visit Jonesie to find out what other cats are gardening this week.

Almost Wordless Wednesday ~ Roses for Sniffie

We misses our friend Sniffie, these roses have been planted in The Whiskers Memorial Garden's Hummingbird Cottage in her memory.

Tsarina Tuesday ~ Artemisia

Mommy says I am the tiniest cat she has ever seen. I am full grown, so I probably won't get any bigger.

Being tiny doesn't stop me from doing all the things the bigger cats do. I gets on the desk like Scylla.

I play to my hearts content like Sockie-Pooh. I am very good at bunny kicks.

And I am a pawsome gardening cat.
