Thursday in the Garden

This is a Foxglove Mommy keeps in the green house. A little violet is coming up in the same pot. Mommy will probably find a bed to plant it in this year.

Daddy grew these tomatoes from seeds. He has already planted most of them in buckets. Some upside down and some right side up. He is conducting an experiment.

Zinnias Mommy started from seed. She has already planted these and started a new batch of flowers from seeds. She had to wait to gets some pots freed up to plant all of them.

The Redbud, part of the tree died last year we do not know why.

The Japanese Magnolia aka as a Tulip Tree.

The Roster Violets, Mommy took the ones in the pot out and planted them in the Charybdis' bed and she weeded around the ones left in the wood planter.

The Flowering Quince, it has already stopped blooming and has gotten it's leaves. We likes the flowers better then the leaves, we sure wish they lasted longer.

The bulbs are coming up in the bulb bed.

Now we are heading over to Jonesie's to see what is growing in her garden.

Working Wednesday

The Hummingbird Cottage is coming together nicely. We hung the hummingbird feeders up yesterday and Mommy planted some seeds in the hanging baskets so hopefully they will be ready to hang up soon.

We really likes the way Daddy did the entrances to the cottage.

Daddy still has to mortar the rocks, but they are all in place now.

In case you are wondering about how it got to this point. First he dug the dirts out, then he filled it with sand to keep the rocks from moving or sinking and then he added the rocks. He strung string to makes sure all the rocks are roughly the same height so he had to dig deep holes for some of the larger rocks.

We thinks when it is finished it will be lovely. Mommy got a Trumpet Honeysuckle to plant in one of the beds. She is looking for a Trumpet Vine (we wants either a red or a bright yellow) or a Chocolate Vine for the front bed. If you know where we can get one on the MS Gulf Coast please let us know. And guess what the roses have buds on them. They will be blooming soon.

If anyone is interested Daddy used Paver Sand.

Our Passion Vine came back up, it is suppose to have blue or purple flowers. We never had blooms last year so we don't know what color they are for sure. Mommy also planted some Moon Vine (white) and Morning Glory (blue) seeds in there. Last year caterpillars ate the Passion Vine before it got very big.

Mommy got the Trumpet Honeysuckle (red) planted, it is doing good.

Daddy worked very hard on the floor.

And was really happy to be finished with this part. He still has to mortar it.But he will have to wait until it isn't raining.

Tsarina Tuesday

Mommy got this windchime when she was at the Pharmacy. The black tuxedo cat reminded her of Whiskers.

And the hummingbirds came from the grocery store. Mommy may take it down to the Hummingbird Cottage, but for now it is up at the house for us to enjoy.

Mommy has been planting stuff. (Mostly white Zinnias)

 and weeding.

The Bugleweed and the Stokes Aster looks nice now that she has gotten all the weeds out of their bed.

I likes to play with the seed pods from the Candlebush. They rattle when you whap them.

Mommy, I thinks you missed some weeds.

The Hummingbird Cottage is looking pawsome, Good Job Daddy!!!!!!

Mancat Monday

Hanging out with Scylla & Tallulah Skye on the bed.

Scylla gave Mom a hand with the laundry so we could go outside.

I guesses Scylla does a decent job as a Housecat, er Mommy said the word is Housewife.

Daddy was glad to see us.

He has been hard at work on the Hummingbird Cottage.

I let Mommy hold me too, before I went to explore the yard.

Scylla's Garden

Since I don't go outside much I asked Mommy if I could have a small garden in the Master Bedroom, which is where I generally spend my time. She said YES, so we went shopping at CSN Stores. They had lots of pretty bowls that could be used as terrariums.

But this is the one we liked best. We thinks the kitty climbing into the terrarium is neat.

Mommy helped me plant some of the wildflowers that grow around Whiskers' grave in there. I thinks they look very pretty in there.

PS: Mommy reviewed the leash we got Fenris here.

Melmo

I started a Facebook page for Melmo the 11 year old dog that was shot in her own yard while chained by a police officer. From comments on the article in the Sun Herald I understand Melmo's family has been seeking legal advice. Hopefully something can and will be done to protect our pets.

Flowers on Friday

The Camilla out by the road is blooming.

The Carolina Jasmine, we just love it. It is a mass of blooms and such a cheerful color.

Mommy just loves these wildflowers growing near the fence.

Mommy took a picture of the yellow Kalanchoe in the Greenhouse for us. Hopefully she will get it out soon so we can enjoy the blooms.. ~AFSS
