Jonesie started the Society of Feline Gardeners meeting with a heads up about the best place to buy seeds. The Flowering Quince is blooming.

The Snowflakes are up and blooming.

Our Rooster Violet still putting on a show for us.

The Chinese Witch Hazel.

The Rosemary has delicate purple blooms.

Some itty bitty tiny white wildflowers.

The forsythia, it is even starting to get leaves.

The red maple, doesn't it look pretty.

I am plumb tuckered out with all the chores we has to do. I don't care what the stupid human calendar says the yard says it is March. We has lots of flowers blooming now that usually wait till then. It is purrty and sunny out and usually in the 70s, not typical January weather at all. Usually it is overcast rainy and cold in January. Not that I am complaining mind you as I prefer sunny and cool to overcast and cold although I does wonder how the plants feel about the lack of water. But it does mean we has lots of weeding to do as well as the housework. Poor Mom is tuckered out to so after she gets through with the laundry, I am getting a head start, we is going to take a rest. ~Socks

I got a new harness. I wanted a BLUE harness to match my eyes but the only color they had it in was BLACK. Mommy said you could get it in any color you wanted as long as it was Black. Supposedly that is an old Ford joke that the humans think is funny. I was not amused.

It is a Dean & Tyler Universal - No Pull. The strap that goes between my legs is too long. Mommy emailed them about it and the nice gentleman in customer service told her to snail mail the strap to them and they will make it shorter for us. Daddy was suppose to mail it for us last week but he forgot. He got it mailed off the first of this week though, so hopefully they will get the shorter strap here soon so I can go walking with Mommy.

I do wish it was blue though.

Mommy likes it cause it is easier for her to get on and off and it has a big handle she can grab me with. So even though it isn't blue I guesses it is OK. ~Fenris pup reporting

Slightly out of focus picture of the Carolina Jessamine.

The Rooster Violet, it is a wildflower that we likes a lot. It will bloom all winter, it seems to enjoy cold weather.

I thinks this big clump of green is Shasta Daisies, they never bloomed so I don't know for sure, but we thinks that is the seeds Mommy planted there.

I have no patients with plants that don't bloom.

I rolled around in the dirts in the front flower bed in order to distribute the seeds better. Mommy doesn't do it correctly.

I spies something out of place.

I am telling the Carolina Jessamine that it better start climbing the post before Mommy chops it off. I hopes it listens to me.

I am keeping an eye on this rosebush. It is the one that smells good but it only blooms in the SPRING.

Gotta check out the new flowerbed.

Daddy seems to have done a good job mulching it with leaves.

Now I am off to make my report to The Society of Feline Gardeners.

My Adventure with Chrome by Arty Mouse

Chrome's Mommy led us out onto the road. Normally I am not allowed near the road but since I was with Chrome and his Mommy it was OK. I was kinda afraid of the traffic so I puffed myself up real big.

Then we went for a nice long walk in the woods. I like the woods. Chrome's Mommy lent me her jacket to use as a saddle.

Then we went to Church. A nice man at the church wrote a song all about my visit but for some reason he thought I was a squirrel. MOL I didn't mean to cause that much of a raucous.

Chrome has lots of kitty friends. He introduced me to this cutie-pie and I recruited him for the CIA. Chrome I see some nefarious activity going on that we need to investigate. Let's go!!!!!!!!!

It was a day like any other day that Mommy goes to the store. She got up early and got her shower, as usual us cats elected to stay inside until she returned home while Fenris went outside to patrol for intruders. While at the store Mommy bought us some cat treats and Fenris got some doggie bones. They were placed inside one of the plastic baggies and put inside the car. Mommy drove home and the boy beans helped her unload the car once she was here. The bag with the treats was carried in the house and placed on the kitchen counter. Eventually Mommy got around to unloading the bags and putting the groceries away the treats were supposedly placed on our shelf in the pantry and gasp they were never seen again!!!!!!!

What oh what happened to our treats..............................................

Did the boy beans eat them for a snack?

Did the absent minded Mommy put them somewhere else and forget about it?

Did Fenris eat them bag and all?

Did the Mouse drag them to her lair under the couch and nibble a hole in the bag so she could enjoy the treats at her leisure and in solitude.?

Did some nefarious stranger make off with our treats?

I has my square ready to send for the memory quilt being made for The Houston Pittie Pack.

This came from a blanket that both me and the cats LOVE. The blanket used to live in the garage on a shelf for the cats to lay on. When I came to live here Mommy put it in my carrier so I would get use to their smells. When I got a dog house so I could sleeps outside sometimes Daddy tried putting it in my dog house. I just drag it out and puts it in the yard where I wants it. In winter when the ground is cold I likes to drag it to a sunny spot and lay out on it. If it is really cold and windy I wraps myself up in it.

Mommy insisted on washing it before we sent it off. I hopes The Houston Pittie Pack will still be able to smells us on it and know we sent lots of love with it.

I am infusing the square with love and good thoughts.

I am checking out the plants up close and personal.

The Lantana is blooming in January, it is very confused. It looks nice against my furs. I made sure the Mom saw it.

Remember when Daddy was digging in the yard. Well a lot of strange men came with a machine that dug and they put a new septic system in for us. This one sprays water up in the air. We may plant some flowers around them but we would have to find something that likes soggy soil and doesn't mind chlorine.

Daddy has been putting leaves where the barn used to be. He is getting the soils ready for our new flower bed.

The Pineapple Sage is blooming in the front flower bed.

The Forsythia has blooms on it.

The Curry is doing well in the herb bed.

The Oregano and Fennel are still around too.

OK, it is time to go to Jonesie's so I can make my report to the Society of Feline Gardeners.

I works for the CIA (Cat Intelligence Agency). My friendship with dogs means I has informants all over the place. This makes me a very valuable agent.

I also learn all the secrets your peeps have. They tell me everything they thinks I am so CUTE!

I also help fight forest fires. Unfortunately fighting fires is a very dirty adventure. I has soot all over me.

Socks disapproves of my soot covered self so I am trying to clean up ASAP, while I gives him my report. He is the director of the CIA.

Sometimes I has to swim raging rivers.

Usually I am able to use trees as bridges.

I is exhausted. I has so much work to do. Thank Cat now that Arty Mouse lives here she can help me with some of it, unlike my other siblings she is pretty useful. I am director of the CIA (Arty will explain Tuesday) and she is one of my most valuable agents.

First I has to look totally handsome whenever the Mom wants to take a picture. I am the chief male model in this household.

Then I has to patrol the yard to make sure it is safe for the Mom & Fenris. I also has to hunt down any mice that might be around Mommy is afraid of mice, I can't have them frightening her.

I also has to try to impart my wisdom to Scylla. She is a very silly girl so that is very HARD WORK.

Here I am teaching her how to meditate. Meditating properly is very IMPORTANT.

Once I get through meditating I has to go help Mommy weed flower beds, fertilize flowerbeds, do laundry and cook supper. After that I has to make sure Mommy gets some exercise and then I has to snoopervising her cleaning up the kitchen. And then we has blogging to do, friends to visit and .........................................

Mommy you has entered me in the wrong category. I is much cuter then that big galoot of a dawg you got for your birthday, I is not a BAD SPORT. Enter me in the Too Darn Cute category this instant!

Well yes, I did claw the door frame and tear up the weather stripping, but that is only because YOU did not answer the door fast enough. When I meows to be let in I mean I wants in NOW, not when it is convenient for you. I do not care if you were in the shower. You are suppose to open the door as soon as I MEOW. Actually you should anticipate my wants and open the door before I MEOW.

And yes, I did use the carpet in the family room as a litter box. You were being obtuse and not figuring out that after years of using a litter box with a cover I NOW want a litter box with a view. Once you got me a new litter box I stopped using the family room didn't I?

Well yes, the holes in the carpet are my doing, but YOU and the boy beans are not suppose to close your doors. How am I suppose to get in your rooms in the morning to wake you up if the door is closed? What do you mean you want to sleep late, I wants breakfast at 4AM. At least you and Eldest opened your doors before I made the hole to big. How was I suppose to know Youngest had on earphones and couldn't hear me clawing away at the carpet, by his door.

Sure I tend to get places where You don't want me to be but that is cause I wants to be there. What you wants is of no concern to me and it certainly doesn't make me a BAD SPORT!

(Sigh) I has to admit they do call me Grumpy Girl at the Vet because I scream at the top of my lungs the whole time I am there when I am not growling and hissing at them. But they poke me in rude places and gives shots you know. I thinks I am entitled to make my displeasure known.

First there is the fact she mispronounces words horribly the guy peeps always pick on her about that.

Then there is the fact she is very clumsy. Honestly she is always tripping over her own two feet, OK we may have a little to do with that problem as we are generally standing between her two feet but............

This is the flakiest thing she has done recently. Arty generally loves being outside and only comes home at supper time. Well Mommy went and called Arty and called and called, people were doing fireworks and shooting guns and some people were playing really LOUD music so Mommy was getting kinda worried when Arty didn't come right away even though she had seen her when she was weeding. Arty always comes to make sure Mommy is weeding correctly. Bad things happen when we aren't around to snoopervise like Mommy mistaking a honeysuckle vine for a dead zinnia and accidentally cutting it down. Anyway Arty was on the back side of the pond and she was coming as fast as she could but she had to swim across a raging river and cross a jungle so it took a while, Mommy finally spotted her and picked her up to carry her the rest of the way home. Scylla of course fell in behind them right away when Mommy came by the trailer where she was lounging but Socks decided to be naughty and stay under the trailer. So Mommy gets Arty and Scylla in the house and she is all out of breath from her strenuous hike carrying the Arty Mouse and ask Eldest Boy Bean to go fetch Socks. Youngest Boy Bean had knee surgery and couldn't bend down to get him out from under the trailer, even though he came to help Mommy find the Arty Mouse. So while she is waiting on Eldest to get through playing on his computer and go fetch Socks she remembers it is the 1st and that Fenris needs his heartworm medicine so she is getting that out to give him and Arty is in the kitchen watching her (by the garage door) when Eldest goes to fetch Socks and being a boy bean he doesn't shut the garage door properly and it comes open and fearing that Arty will escape Mommy yells Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo and lunges for the door terrifying poor Arty who runs through the door and into the field and refuses to come to barefoot Mommy (who will probably get another cold from running around outside in January barefoot) who is chasing her. Thankfully the wise and wonderful Daddy came outside to catch Arty while Eldest boy bean caught Socks who had finally moseyed up to the garage only to be frightened by the screaming Mommy. So Sarge, Frankie, Road Dogs that is why we think our Mommy is a flake.

Thursday in the Garden

Daddy tore down the barn. Arty was kinda upset about it cause she liked to hang out in there, on the other hand Mommy was thrilled to see it go cause she was afraid it was going to fall down on top of Arty one day. Arty is OK with it now cause guess what Daddy is going to plant flowers there.

The rosemary is doing pawsome. Mommy cut the dead stuff out of the flowerbed one day when she was feeling OK and the weather was in the 70's.

Our Roster Violet is blooming up a storm.

Now to the green house. The Purple Heart is blooming.

And the Snowflake (aka Bacopa) and Diamond Frost are blooming. You can't see the Diamond Frost very well, but the Snowflake looks lovely in the hanging basket.

I likes to visit with Mr. Bunny when I am inside. Scylla & Charybdis sat by him a lot when they were little and he tells me all sorts of tales about when they were little and first came to live here.

I wish I had lived here when Charybdis was alive. She liked to play outside like I do. I bet the two of us would have had some pawsome adventures.

It is cold outside today so I am staying inside and snuggling with Mr. Bunny.

He has lived with the parents a very long time. He even remembers when the boy beans were little.

Mr Bunny is kinda boring though, all he does is sit in this chair all day. He never goes outside to play or anything.

Mommy is taking pictures of me again.

She is mumbling something about the purrfect Easter picture. I thinks I may be in trouble, it sounds as if she expects me to pose for her. ~Arty Mouse

No two legged humans around good. Gather round all you four legged critters and hear a tale, of a Queen with a very long tail. Now all of you have of course heard of the King of the Cats, some critter actually told the tale when a human could hear and ~~most of us know what happened to him~~ that is a tale for another day. Remember this tale is just for us four legged critters to know you can't breath a word of it to your humans no matter how nice they may be.

Ahem, once upon a time in a land no human has ever seen there lived a most beautiful Queen. Her fur was white as snow and her tail was as long and fluffy as could be. She could totally cover herself with it from the tip of her nose to her paws. And since she was as wise as she was beautiful everyone in her kingdom was very happy. There was only one thing missing................................The King had set out on an adventure and had not returned for some years, the Queen missed her husband very much and so she sent out a decree asking all the brave cats to venture forth and find the King.

They searched and searched and finally found the King in the human world. The poor King had been mistaken for a stray and was imprisoned in the animal shelter. Now the brave Cat that found him knew it was of the utmost importance to rescue him right away but wasn't sure how to go about it. Finally the Cat returned to the Queen and told her what he had discovered. The Queen at great personal risk ventured into the human world. She used her magic to find a woman with a kind heart and appeared at her home. When the woman saw the Queen she took her inside her home gave her some food and made a nice bed for her. During the night the Queen got in bed with the woman and filled her dreams full of visions of the King. The next morning the woman awoke and decided that the Queen needed a playmate and set off to the animal shelter to find the perfect companion for the Queen. She recognized the King immediately from her dreams and brought him home. The Queen was overjoyed to be reunited with the King but she felt bad because she knew the woman would be sad when she left with the King and so she used her magic to let all the strays know that this woman had a kind heart and that they should come to her if they needed help. Before the woman knew it she had a cottage full of cats and even a few dogs and thanks to the Queens' thoughtfulness there was always enough food for everyone and plenty of warms beds to sleep in and they all lived happily ever after.

Socks and I our spending time in the CATS jungle gym. Hear that Fenris it belongs to us cats no DOGS allowed. Isn't the Rye Grass pretty and green. We just love it. Mommy says the only problem is Daddy didn't plant enough of it, she would like it all over the yard.

Socks thinks Daddy was very naught to put Fenris' yard around our jungle gym.

I likes to get on the roof cause you can see for a very long way when you are up there.

I is telling Socks everything I saw, he never gets up there.

Mommy is spying on us again.

Mommy hasn't had a chance to take any pictures outside so we thought we would show you our tree.

Eldest Boy Bean made the Christmas Tree Ornament and Mommy made the Heart.

Youngest Boy Bean made the green Star Ornament (it has a little orange on it).

The Angel is suppose to be on top of the tree, but she is too heavy for it, so she is on top of the entertainment center instead. We hopes you enjoyed seeing our tree. Mommy get out of the picture and come feeds us, we are hungry. Drop by Jonesie's and you might even get to see some cats in their gardens, we are sure some of our friends got reliable STAFF for Christmas. I is having fun bunny kicking my toy.

We has been remiss in telling you about a terrific present we WON!!!!! From Cats of Wildcat Woods, way back on November 22nd. We had a good reason though, see we just knew it would be the very best Christmas present for our Daddy and we wanted it to be a surprise.

We won The Awkward Family Pet Photos book. Much better to having him get a chuckle from other cats, dogs and assorted other animals in photos then have the Mom taking awkward photos of US.

He couldn't wait to read it.

Socks watched the festivities to make sure they didn't get out of hand.

He closely monitored the unwrapping of the presents.

And when the beans appeared to be bored he livened things up by playing whap the bag.

Mancat Monday & Fenris Update

I is spending the day in bed with my sister Scylla. Mommy says we are lazy.

Scylla really knows how to relax.

Mommy loves my spotted belly furs. I really knows how to relax too.

Scylla can't get enough of the electric blanket.

I on the other hand purrfur the flannel sheets.

You know Scylla is awful sweet when she is asleep. Who would guess she is such a demanding critter when she is awake. ~Socks

Fenris is walking on his leg normally and can stand on it today. Mommy had him stand on his hind legs to make sure. Everyone thanks so much for your healing purrs, positive vibes and crossed paws they really HELPED a bunch.

Fenris has hurt one of his hind legs. We don't know how. There is no open wound/swelling but he is limping on it. It'll be at least tomorrow before he can go to the vet so we are asking for healing and comforting purrs. And paws crossed the vet is open tomorrow if he needs to go.

Our Yellow Bell (forsythia) is confused. It isn't suppose to bloom until SPRING, but look it has blooms on it NOW and it is early winter. Mommy says our weather has confused it. See this FALL it got really cold. Jack Frost came to visit and Mommy had to wear sweaters and coats and everything then it warmed back up to the 70s and some of our plants that are suppose to sleep all winter started blooming.

The Curry is thriving in the Herb Bed.

And these nice red berries growing wild have put us in a Holiday Mood.

With Socks' help the beans even put up our TREE.

Mommy hasn't made up the bed yet. I am enjoying the nice flannel sheets. I thinks RED shows off my furs nicely and looks like Christmas. Scylla is on the bed too, but SHE is on the electric blanket.

I is resting up, I saw Daddy get the box with the Christmas tree in it out. I thinks that means I will have to snoopervise them putting the tree up and decorating it. Christmas is a lot of hard work.

And Scylla just reminded me today is Youngest Boy Bean's Birthday. We are very excited cause his favorite dish has shrimp and cheese in it, and we gets leftovers.

Fenris & Arty Mouse

In 100 words or less, can you please summarize your experience with the 28-Day Challenge telling us how your dog went from good to extraordinary? This has been a great experience the food was delivered right to our door and Fenris was eager to try it. His breath smells lots better and he actually seems eager to eat his dry food. Also since the kibble is smaller then he is used to he tends to actually stand at the bowl and eat instead of carrying the kibble to his rug. His coat and smile are just fantastic. Love those shiny clean teeth he is sporting.
Are you planning to feed your dog Eukanuba moving forward? I would love to be able to feed Fenris Eukanuba on a regular basis, alas my finances will not allow it. It is certainly going on the list of preferred dog foods and I will be keeping my eye out for coupons and bargains, unfortunately the local retailers do not seem to carry it so it will have to be ordered online, which having the heavy bags delivered to my door is really nice but makes it more difficult to find sales.
What was the best part of the Challenge? Seeing how eager Fenris was to eat his dry dog food.
What did you learn about your dog from the Challenge? That Fenris can actually ask for meals. Because the cats were eating out of his bowl I was having to put the bowl on top of the refrigerator in order to keep them out of it when Fenris was outside. He learned where I kept it and would go sit in front of the refrigerator and woo if I had forgotten to put it back down on the floor for him. I thought it was adorable, to see him wooing for his food.
Would you recommend feeding Eukanuba to others? YES!!!!!!! If you can afford it I highly recommend feeding Eukanuba to your dog and with all the different formulas they have I am confident you can find one that is just right for your pet.

The obligatory glamor shot of my glamorous self.

Mommy got all the dead zinnias out of this bed, she made a bad mistake though she accidentally cut our Goldflame Honeysuckle down. We hopes it will grow back. Mommy is trying to root some of it in the greenhouse. We has our paws crossed that it grows back and that Mommy manages to root it.

The violet is doing good it likes the cold weather and will happily bloom all winter.

This is one of our last zinnias.

The Camillas are doing great. They are evergreens so the frost doesn't bother them.

This picture was taken last week. Mr. Jack Frost visited our garden and killed the Pineapple Sage, but the Rosemary is still nice and green it will stay green all winter.

Fenris Week 3 ~Eukanuba 28-Day Challenge with Arty Mouse

I have been telling Arty Mouse how good the Eukanuba dog food is. She is the only one of the cats that hasn't eaten it. Mommy says the cats shouldn't eat my dog food because it isn't formulated for cats. Eukanuba makes a cat food that would be good for them, so maybe one day they can try it. She hasn't figured out how to stop Socks and Scylla from eating my dog food though. She picks it up when I am outside and puts it on top of the refrigerator, I has to remind her to get it down for me when I come in, but those sneaky cats eat it with me in the same room as them. I scared Socks good the other day. See I was sleeping and he was eating my food, well he makes so much racket when he eats he woke me up and I walked up REAL QUIET and touched his butt. You should have seen him flying out of the dining room. Pity there isn't a picture especially the part where he turned around and GLARED at Mommy cause she was laughing so hard at him.

Arty says I wasn't very nice, she scolded me good. I is very sorry I was bad Arty Mouse. Please offer my apologies to Socks, but would you ask him to stop eating my food.

This is what the dog food looks like. It is smaller then my normal kibble and much easier for the cats to eat. It annoys me a little bit, see I likes to get a piece of kibble in my mouth walk over to my rug and lay down and chew on it for awhile, then get up and get another one. These are so small it isn't worth the bother carrying them over to my rug so I just has to stand there and eats them. I tried carrying a mouthful over to my rug to eat at my leisure but that just made a mess and annoyed the Mom.

For some strange reason Mommy thinks I should stand at my bowl and eat anyway.

Well that's all I has to say, I am going to let Mommy answer some questions while I eats. ~Fenris

Third Week

Are you noticing physical changes to your dog? Improved muscle tone? Since Fenris is a young dog in the peak of health I haven't noticed any dramatic changes.
Is your dog more active? Does he have more energy on runs/walks? Fenris is exhibiting more energy.
How is your dog’s coat, nails, eyes, ears and teeth while eating Eukanuba? Great!!! He looks awesome.
Has your dog’s breath improved since feeding Eukanuba? His breath does smell better and I have to admit Socks & Scylla's breath smells better too.

I took advantage of being let out in Fenris' yard to explore the place. For some reason he gets bent out of shpe when I try to come back there with him.

The Jungle Gym is the purrfect cat palace.

Unlike Scylla I can get down from the second level. SHE has to jump to the first floor to get down, MOL.

I wanted to explore all the nooks and crannies even the basement Fenris excavated.

I am not ready to go in Mommy.

I am going out in MY YARD now. You don't have to bother with opening the gate for me I can just walk right out. MOL, I am the only one that can do this, even Socks is too BIG. ~Arty Mouse

Addio Opus

We were very sad to learn our dear friend Opus has gone to the Rainbow Bridge. Opus blogged @ Cat Naps in Italy along with his sister Olive. His brother and littermate Roscoe went to the Rainbow Bridge in September of 2008. Goodness Gracie is his aunt and she is very sad about her nephews passing also.

Opus we will never forget the adventures we had with you and you will always hold a special place in our hearts, addio until we meet again.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Fenris Week 2 ~Eukanuba 28-Day Challenge

Well I just has to confess nothing taste better then leftover TURKEY & HAM, we are talking the real deal here. I thinks Thanksgiving should always be at our house. Not only did Mommy cook foods, Grandma brought lots of foods too and the cats and me got some. It was yummy to our tummies.

The Eukanuba is pretty good too and Mommy (the spoil sport) says it is better for me.

I say I wants table scraps 24/7. Don't think she will listen to me.

OK, Mommy says I can brag a little about how good I am. See the patch with NO GRASS. We got a new septic system and I haven't bothered anything. I didn't dig in it, roll in it (Scylla did roll in the dirts) or bother anything. Aren't I a good doggie? And it's in my back yard and everything.

Don't the fall leaves compliment my coat nicely?

OK, I am letting Mommy answer some questions again I has some pee mails to read.

Second Week

Are you noticing any changes to your dog’s appearance? Shinier coat, cleaner teeth, stronger nails?
His breath certainly smells better. Fenris is a young dog and in good health so I haven't noticed any dramatic changes.

Are you noticing an increase in play drive/energy? What specifically?
Not sure if it's the food or the cooler fall weather but he is having a ball running and playing in all the leaves.

Does your dog like the smell and taste of the new food?
Fenris seems to enjoy the food. Although he did boycott it the day after Thanksgiving. He seemed to think he was suppose to get more turkey and ham and he was probably still full from all the food he had Thanksgiving.

How is your dog reacting to the new food in general?
Fenris seems very pleased with the Eukanuba and has been reminding me that he would like some food in his bowl.

I was pleased to note that Eukanuba has the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval.

What did you think of the food (texture, appearance, smell) when you first poured it into your dog’s bowl?
I thought it looked appealing, more importantly Fenris seems to find it appealing. It is smaller then the dry food he is use to, which the cats LOVE, it is just the right size for them. I am having a hard time keeping the cats out of it. It also retains it's smell after the bag has been opened. This is important as Fenris is a nibbler and eats his food a little throughout the day. Table scraps and canned food are an exception to this, but then he only gets canned food once a month when I give him his Trifexis and I rarely give him table scraps.

Thursday in the Garden by Scylla

I asked to do the gardening report today. Daddy has the greenhouse put back together and Mommy has the stuffs put back in here that stays in here for the winter.

The Blue Daze is still looking pawsome.

I thought I would show you how nice and tidy it looks, it'll probably be the last time it looks this way as Mommy will manage to mess it up soon enough.

She weeded these beds before she put everything back in here. Those large things are GARLIC. We don't have to worry about vampires in the greenhouse, MOL.

The Camilla is blooming isn't it gorgeous. I just love this color.

The Pineapple Sage is still gorgeous. Mommy cleaned out the front flowerbed last week and discovered it is blooming in there too. She has been working in the yard while the weather is nice. It has been in the 70's here.

The leaves of the Ginger Lilly got frostbite but the blooms still look pretty.

The Bottlebrush is pretty and it has been attracting lots of butterflies.

I am going to take a rest under Mommy's chair before I head off to Jonesie's.

I hopes they like my report for the Society of Feline Gardeners. ~Scylla.

Purring for Dr. Tweety

From his Mom via Facebook - We are hoping its an infection and not a small stroke but heart rate was twice as fast as it should be and movements very wobbly and lopsided.

Seven Cats Maybe More............ By Artemisia

This is my birth sister Tippy Toes' baby. I guess that means I am the little ones Aunt. Mommy got to pet it but it is so small it went right through the bars of the cage and escaped from Mommy.

This Tabby has interesting markings. Mommy doesn't remember seeing it around before. And it does remind us of Annie from Fuzzy Tails.

Grandpa feeds them in cages.

This beauty reminds us of Fin. Mommy got to pet it too. Poor thing it was very brave and got in the cage to eat and then Monster Mommy blocked the way out and insisted on petting it.

This lovely Tabby looks like a tiger to us.

This isn't my birth brother but it looks just like him. My birth brother disappeared, this makes us very sad. He was friendly and loved for Mommy to pet him so we hopes he wondered off and found a loving home somewhere. Grandma claims that he wasn't one of the ones Grandpa took to the Animal Shelter. It scares me to think of my relatives being taken there. Mommy wanted to rescue me and Blackie but Blackie freaked out when Mommy took him in the house, so she couldn't rescue him. And please Mommy tries to get Grandma and Grandpa to have their cats spayed/neutered but they will not. There isn't anything she can do about it. So don't get mad at my Mommy. She even offered to pay to have it done and they still wouldn't do it. They think it is a waste of money.

And Mommy says this kitten looks like a young Socks. There were so many Mommy couldn't count them and some of them don't come up while she is there, but there were at least seven that she saw. ~Arty Mouse reporting on the Cats @ Grandma's House.

Mommy's cleaning spree has us feeling very tired. Who knew snoopervising housecleaning could be so taxing.

The Flowers of Fall with Butterflis

Our Carolina Jasmine is blooming already. It likes the cooler weather. Down here it usually blooms in the winter. It'll have lots of blooms in February.

Apparently this Butterfly hasn't gotten the memo about Cold weather coming. Well to be fair it has been in the high 70s here.

Eukanuba 28 Day Challenge Week 1 ~ Fenris with help from Scylla

(Fenris) I was outside when someone drove up with a package for us. I barked real LOUD to let the parents know someone was outside.

(Scylla) Daddy came in carrying a big box. I of course had to check it out.

It had dog food in it. Mommy why isn't there CAT FOOD in here??????? Mommy explained about Fenris agreeing to take the 28 Day Challenge, Do they has one for cats?

(Alasandra) Scylla I don't know if they have a 28 Day Challenge for cats. If they did they have a weight loss cat food that I would love for you to try.

(Scylla) I don't like DIET FOOD!!!!!!!!

(Alasandra) I know Scylla, I think that is pretty apparent to everyone (sniggering) but you might like Eukanuba's cat food.

(Scylla) Well their dog food does smell good.

(Fenris) when I finally got let in I rushed over to check it out. Nice eye catching picture don't you think?

Of course it would look better if I was on the package. I had already had my supper so I had to wait till the next day to try it.

Mommy choose to get Eukanuba Custom Care Healthy Joints for me to try.

Not only is it suppose to keep my joints healthy, it is suppose to removes the tarter from my teeth.

And look everybuddy I got a new toy when we were at Petsmart. Mommy looked to see if they carried Eukanuba but they didn't. RATS!!!!! I am going to let Mommy answer some questions while I plays with my squeaky toy

First Week

What was your first impression of the new packaging of the Eukanuba food? I thought the packaging was eye catching and that it was easy to see and read all the information.
Was there something specific that appealed to you about the Eukanuba formula that you selected for your dog? Since Fenris suffered from Panosteitis as a puppy I always look for food and treats that help maintain joint health. I was pleased to see the high levels of Glucosamine and Chondroitin.
How did your dog react the first time you fed him the Eukanuba food? The way he normally reacts to dry dog food. He sniffed it and nibbled a little. Great Pyrenees aren't real big eaters. And yeah I know Fenris is on the small size for a Great Pyrenees. The best we can figure is he is a cross between a Great Pyrenees and an Australian Shepherd. Would love to do a DNA test to find out for sure one day. But he behaves a lot like my Dad's purebred Great Pyrenees, especially when it comes to food. He eats about 2 cups of dry dog food a day, and nibbles on it throughout the day. With the cooler weather he is more active and is eating more. Right now I give him 2 cups of dry dog food at breakfast and if he has finished it I give him another 2 cups before I go to bed, he sometimes eats about half of it before I get up, sometimes it is still there in the morning untouched, and once in a blue moon he has eaten all of it and wants more. Although I just discovered the cats have been eating out of his bowl. I caught the 3 of them in the act. Poor Fenris he was just watching them with a sad look on his face.

This is the newest addition to the Hummingbird Cottage. We has to say we are a tad disappointed in it. We ordered it from Wayfair, which was formerly CSN Stores. Apparently their merchandise is not of the same high quality. You can't tell from the picture but the metal is all scuffed up and Daddy said the holes were not aligned properly when he put it together. If Mommy had been putting it together she would have just sent it back, but Daddy drilled new holes to make it work.

The cushions didn't even work right. Instead of string ties it has Velcro which would be fine if the person had sewn all the Velcro strips on correctly, unfortunately some were not sewn on right so Mommy had to take them off and redo them (such a nuisance). At least it is comfortable to lay on and under. And we thinks Mommy did an pawsome job picking out a cushion to blend with the Hummingbird Cottage. ~AFSS
